RockTape - Kinesiology Tape Instruction - Starburst (Pain Blaster)

This video details the steps on applying RockTape Kinesiology Tape with an application that covers the hand. This can protect against tears and blisters during grip intensive movements.

Start with our standard 2 inch tape and measure from the base of the middle finger to just below the wrist. Fold at this measurement to double the length. For more coverage, measure a duplicate strip of the same length. Measure a final strip around the wrist, leaving about a half inch between the ends. Round the tape’s corners to avoid catching on gear or clothing.

To create the finger hole, fold the longer strip in half. Then, cut a sliver off the fold leaving about a half inch from then end. The end result should look like an eye. Carefully tear the release paper at the hole, and slide the middle finger through. With the palm up and fingers spread, extend the wrist pointing the fingers down. As you pull the release paper away, work the tape so that it is flat at the base of the middle finger.

Lay the end down over palm and wrist. Turn the hand over and flex the wrist, keeping the fingers spread. As you pull the release paper away, work the tape so that it is flat to the knuckle. Lay the end down over hand and wrist. Rub to activate the adhesive. Repeat for the index finger as needed. Tear the center of the final strip to expose the adhesive. Apply with slight stretch over the front-side of the wrist. Lay down the ends with no stretch, then rub to activate the adhesive.
