RockBlades – Powerfully simple soft-tissue tools.

Welcome to the future of IASTM.  RockBlades are comprised of two precision-engineered and manufactured soft-tissue instruments: a “Mallet” and a “Mullet,” RockRub emollient, sanitizing wipes, and a quick-start guide to form a complete IASTM system.  RockBlades 2.0 consists of TWO stainless steel instruments.  Why?  Because the feedback we received was that most people loved the steel Mallet, but would have liked the smaller Mullet to be stainless too.  So we have not only done that, BUT also retained the same lightweight feel of the original Mullet!

Why is the larger tool called the “Mallet”?  The mallet is the most versatile tool you can have in your toolkit.  And you will find all that versatility in this surgical grade stainless steel IASTM tool.  Hand polished treatment surfaces, combined with a perfectly balanced and weighted core make it a joy to use day in and day out in the clinic.  The mallet has matte-finished dimples, four on each side, combined with the “brass-knuckle” style handle, enabling you to hold the tool 6 different ways.  Each side is unique – both in shape and edge radius.  This gives a huge range of treatment options and therapist grips.

Why is the smaller tool called the “Mullet.”  This is because its business at the front, and all party at the back – just like that 90’s haircut!  This lightweight surgical grade stainless steel tool is designed to be portable, allowing you to deliver superior soft-tissue manipulation wherever the job takes you.  The Mullet  has numerous treatment edges, much like the Mallet, but when the hard day’s work is over, the integrated bottle opener will make sure you never go thirsty!

The RockRub emollient is the perfect medium for IASTM work, and the cleaning wipes can be used to clean the tool between patients, as well as wiping down the patient’s skin before you apply your RockTape.

WHY IASTM?

Your hands are the most important tools you have right?  So you want to keep them in tip-top condition.  IASTM can relieve the pressure on your hands for some soft tissue applications.  The Mallet can also be an extremely sensitive tool to assess for soft tissue restrictions, and then provide an alternative method to relieve these areas of tightness.  Whilst it looks serious, the Mallet can provide a very gentle treatment effect, as can the Mullet being a lighter version.  In fact, we discourage unnecessarily heavy applications that have traditionally been used in the IASTM method.  Just like with our taping methodology, we believe that IASTM can induce powerful treatment effects by working on the superficial tissues and no doubt influencing the nervous system as much, if not more than the soft tissues themselves.  For these reasons, the Mallet and the Mullet can be perfect additions to your treatment armoury and help you and your patients “Go Stronger, Longer”.
